What ObjectDesktop Does
ObjectDesktop contains nearly all of the components needed to transform your desktop into a truly eye-pleasing experience. With Windowblinds, a featured component, you can change virtually every aspect of the Windows GUI. You can make your Windows XP look like Vista or even Mac OS X. IconPackager can be used to change all the system icons, and with DesktopX you can add widgets to your desktop. With SkinStudio, you can make your own skins and share them with others.
Many of the ObjectDesktop components have free trial downloads so you can evaluate the products. Some, like Windowblinds, have a time and feature limited trial, and others have free versions that do not have the advanced features available in the enhanced versions.
How to Use ObjectDesktop
The Basics
After purchasing ObjectDesktop (standard version, valued at over $120, for $49.95; or Ultimate, valued at over $200, for $69.95), download and install Stardock Central or Impulse, a download manager to download, install, and manage Stardock products. Be sure to check out the Installing ObjectDesktop 101 article for more details on how to use Stardock Central to get the full benefit of ObjectDesktop.
When you purchase ObjectDesktop, you will receive a year of free updates to all the programs included in the suite. All the programs you install from ObjectDesktop are yours to keep, however once the one year subscription ends you will no longer be able to get free updates. If you decide to do a clean install on your machine, check out the Archiving with SDC article to archive all your programs so they can easily be restored.
